As you correctly stated, eliminating the dividend tax credit and foreign tax credit would mean that I would be DOUBLY taxed on such income. I currently pay about $100K in income taxes each year. How much is enough? Most of my income comes from investments, so I can basically live anywhere, and I would seriously consider moving to a lower tax country if out tax system becomes even more punitive. And how would that increase revenues for the government? Raising any of these taxes is really dumb and self-defeating.
