The unifying theme of what they teach is that men are animals and women are blameless perfect saints. This attitude will not eliminate or reduce domestic violence. Women are not helpless victims and must recognize a reciprocal responsibility to pursue interactional styles that defuse rather than exasperate states of discord and high emotion. Beyond a certain point of emotional flare-up men and women both react violently. No amount of law enforcement aimed at men alone will reduce domestic violence. What will reduce domestic violence is bi-lateral education of the parties as to how situations can be defused, and bi-lateral motivations to attempt to defuse. Expecting men to be immune to emotion when women are free to wail away, hit, and throw things is just not a viable solution. This is why I never donate to WS, but am happy to donate to the Mission. These bridges should have been paid out of gas taxes. The new infrastructure bank will do the Federal Liberals in too as Canadians do not want to pay after tax money for infrastructure. Neither do they want the Saudis and the Wall street banks to control it and set the prices to use it. No flag No flag Allow No action Checked

So now we have a govt of limp wristed eco-nutters from a bygone era out of U of T or Mcgill who beleive Packety was on to something by destroying capitalism who now running our country and who are up against the business oriented right who have taken control of their countries - or are about to - and who have no political agenda but growth of their nations to get out of quagmire of leftist commie death policies. Who among us would not prefer a regular contract to a term contract? A. I prefer no contract beyond 'I will work to fulfill your requirement, keep an account of my effort, submit invoice for payment. You will define your requirement, evaluate progress in fulfillment of the requirement and pay the invoice. You can terminate with notice and payment in full of the effort to date of notice which will be submitted in a timely fashion. ' I have worked on this basis for 32 years. I found it rewarding and clear. The desire to appear to be beholden to an employer in exchange for the appearance of loyalty & shared interest found in contract employment is a ruse to assert that the other party has compelled your acquiescence rather than agreement. Reliance on a union is to submit to yet another party. We are watching now is those who have been dispossessed by earlier union failure, join with the union in blaming the politicians & taxpayers for future union failures. For example, the Skeena, Stikine and Fraser all have great salmon runs that would be affected IF there was a spill. IF Canada needs heavy oil pipelines (and I am not convinced), why put the pipeline thru an area with more than 2 million people versus the North Coast (population in 2015 - Kitimat-Stikine: 38 621 or Skeena-QC:17 533)? That ought to work, right? The economy reacts. Companies don't go into business to give people a living and it isn't their responsibility to do so. They offer a job for a wage that they can afford to pay and employees accept or reject whether or not they want to work for that wage. They don't like it? They need to figure out how to make more. Low wage jobs can go to high schoolers who are learning work ethic. No flag No flag Allow No action Checked

Does missing out on one part of a specific culture, but being exposed to and likely internalizing another culture, make a you a better or worse person or simply a person? And I've had a bit: 1.5 years in Mexico, 3 months recently in another 3rd world country, Indonesia. LOTS of ex-pats in both (especially Mexico). I've still got relations who've decided Baja is the home that the Okanagan Valley could never be. Like many others, my wife and I flirted with the thought of living in Bali. Progressive? Uh-huh. Neither, in most cases, the X-pats, nor these destinations. Many people traditionally have fled to Mexico (yeah, "fled" is the right word, in many cases) because they're running away from something or somebody (often, themselves) and think it's all gonna be paradise. One reason: the warm weather. That is, until hurricanes and humidity have them scurrying back to Canada for a month or two "holiday." Unless you have a ton of money, the word that may describe your life abroad is "regressive." No flag No flag Allow No action Checked

To reflect its true effectiveness, the Dept of Homeland Security should be renamed the Dept of the Illusion of the Homeland Security. Following 911, Bush was desperate to deflect attention away from the fact that he ignored the CIA's early August Presidential Daily Brief titled "Bin Laden determined to strike in US.". So Bush conjured up DHS to create the illusion of security. It was a poorly conceived, knee-jerk response to 9/11. But then incompetence and failure were the hallmark of the entire 8 years of the Bush administration. Working for the TSA, you've got to accept that baggage. No flag No flag Allow No action Checked

Trump says only what he thinks his supporters want to hear. 2. Trump "refuses to kowtow to the sacred cows"--Wrong. Trump refuses to engage in ethical speech when it comes to minority groups, in particular, he engages in race baiting. He kowtows to every cow held sacred by his looney supporters. 3. Thanks to Trump, "we might be forced to reconsider killing babies with bombs" --Trump has advocated "taking out the families" of terrorists which is patently illegal and would likely include the killing of "babies." Trump's anti-establishmentarianism is a prop. This is obvious to anyone not in the throes of cognitive decline. No flag No flag Allow No action Checked

Lassner came here to do his PhD and he never left after that and helped build UH's IT Network from the ground up. The reason why UH's computer network is nothing like the antiquated systems that the rest of the state still uses is because of his vision and leadership as the head of UH's IT Department before he was chosen to his current position. My point is he did not come here as a big shot. He basically fell in love with the place and decided to stay. On another note, I believe that they should hire the best candidate to be the next Police Chief. Not because they are already in HPD or because they are not from Hawaii. If you govern from the left the elitists are from unions and academia. Of you given from the right the elitists are from business. They have in common an overblown sense of self-worth, an unquenchable desire to ravage the public purse for their own personal gain and a total lack of respect for the tax payer. There are two injustices at play here. The first is the lack of meritocracy in appointments. The second is the over compensation. Combined they deeply undermine our publicly funded institutions. On the compensation side, perhaps the only solution is to set up compensation boards run by the judiciary, to determine the fairness of compensation of political appointees. On the merits of an appointment, as ugly as it may seem in the U.S., confirmation hearings by democratically elected representatives may be the only way to vet candidates for these highly paid positions. Death of the body is the cessation of bodily functions which support consciousness. Turnover of atoms/cells is irrelevant. 2. Your definition of 'soul' assumes the correctness of SDA/OT materialist view of human nature. SDA reliance on Eccles 9.5 ignores its context. Eccles 9.5,6 supports a Sadducean view that our limited material existence in this life only is all that is open to us. 9.6 '... neither have they anymore a portion FOREVER in anything done under the sun...' 3. The NT describes 'death' as the state of existence in separation from God, the Source of Life. eg, Eph 2.1 '... dead in trespasses and sins...' 4. Life is the state of renewal / new creation by the Holy Spirit. 'That which is born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit,' '... passes from death unto life.' 5. Our future state is spiritual/immaterial Matt 22.29-32 No flag No flag Allow No action Checked
