I think it's fair to say, from an objective perspective, that I was correct in my usage. Jim, to your legit question about whether the studies account for raises, the UW study looks at people making $19 or below, and someone going from $17 to $18 (e.g.) would be captured by their study. However, one criticism of the UW study I saw is that if someone were to get a raise above $19, then they would drop out of the data pool and not be considered. That's about the extent of my knowledge on the subject. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

The TransAlaska Pipeline, for example, were primarily the work of Nick Begich -- I remember his speech on the House Floor -- and Ted Stevens, but Gravel insisted he was the primary driving force behind the passage and since Nick died nobody with a microphone argued otherwise. Augie Hiebert worked with all of Alaska's delegation to gain military cooperation to bring about the live broadcast of the moon landing. If Mike wasn't off doing something else, he might have had a hand in it, but most of the time, Alaskans couldn't find Mike when he was in office. Like I said, really good at stepping into the limelight to take credit for other people's hard work. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

"It’s only natural that the homeowner will insist that the city find another solution or use that solution somewhere else" Both of these comments, and others, insult the neighbor's motives and participation. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

All the other issues can be settled by the individuals involved. Formation directors can weigh in and assist on a case-by-case basis. There is no need to make a universal pronouncement for all people in all times and places. Most of us spend most of our attention trying to live within the categories that the church has set. It should go both ways... the church should also recognize the movement of grace and respond to it by adjusting its categories. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

Just like in northern Alaska where a village is re-locating because the sea water is wiping out that village built too close the the ocean in the first place. What bright person would build in New Orleans with it being below sea level ? Here's the fact your unwilling to face---the ice is going to melt . Just as it's been doing for thousands of years. Humans will have to adjust---and move to higher ground . It's a joke that all global warming enthusiasts like yourself think that if somehow they can stop all man made pollution that the ice will stop melting and the glaciers will enlarge themselves . I only cite Dennis Miller because he points out how silly global warming people's reasoning is. He said our doom is more likely to come from war or a big meteor strike. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

I am sure there are treaties that would force the TV suppliers in Canada to comply. Then you would be forced to 'stream' the game illegally over the Internet. To be clear, I probably won't watch the game as American football isn't my thing. My interest in the subject is because I am a shareholder of some Canadian media companies including BCE. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

But that's business. Social Darwinism.. What I didn't like was that they changed their pastry vendor. For years I bought maple bars for my weekly visit to my elderly mom. She claimed they were the best in town. Then one day I find that they are no longer available, being replaced by a product that can only be described as sugar coated cardboard. Okay, replace the union people with low wage family members, its your right and your business model, but FFS don't mess with the maple bars. I know I should be more sensitive to the 20 people that lost their jobs, the 20 families suddenly forced to cope with a lost of income, the prospect of not being able to meet rent or mortgage, but it was the maple bars that got me.. Little foxes. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

Toughed it out for about 10 days, no progress so went in to get it checked. Yep, bruised and not even cracked. Doc prescribed two solutions - a painkiller and an analgesic patch. He gave me a couple of sample patches. Good move it turned out. The patch sounded really great - target the meds at the exact site. However. They were horribly, horribly spendy. Over $300 a box of 12. I read the patient lit sheet, an amazingly honest data sheet of the trials. Turns out to be a few percent better than a placebo. The two samples did little and would not stick. The pharmacy would not break a box. I passed. The generic, low cost painkiller did the job in three days. Had I filled the patch prescription my insurance would have laid out 300 bucks for no effect. We would all pay. Read the labels, ask questions. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

Isn't free speech wonderful? Where else in the world than in our own democratic republic uniquely separating 3 sovereign powers forged from a declaration for independence based upon orthodox Christian values impregnating the more ancient Magna Carta. An observably culpable superstar OJ had been nevertheless acquitted of double murder by grisly means. By decree of the Republic, OJ remained unblemished. That is, until this egocentric armed robber was inevitable felled by his addictive narcissistic nature; and, fortuitously punished more for the failed murder prosecution. Now he is a free man having primarily served his legal debt to the Republic. That's the boring legalities. Now for the good stuff. As has been the experience in Europe, many of these practices are carried over into the West, despite them being against the law. This include female genital mutilation, child brides and even using boys as a sexual substitute (in Islamic schools, for example). If we do not openly discuss these things now, we will face - 5, 10 years from now - the very same scandals that we have had with the Christian brothers, native residential schools etc. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

I think Goddez might be understandably confusing Trump with the more typical ultra conservative Republican party of Bush and the NeoCons. That's another barrier for partisans you notice after being independent. "New home prices in Canada’s most-expensive market jumped 1.5 per cent in June, and have gained five per cent since March, data released Thursday by Statistics Canada show. That is the biggest three-month increase since 1990. Prices for existing homes are also on fire, gaining 11 per cent in the five months through July, according to data released this month by Vancouver’s real estate board." If the physicians need a better deal, they need to keep their negotiators at their professional colleges (the governing body, not the academic institution) on task. This was an unusual situation where provinces were able to download on the feds, instead of the other way around, so you can't really blame the provinces for doing it, but there needs to be some changes made. I hear from established doctors that the younger ones don't want to follow their model of practicing so fee for service might not be the best mechanism. Maybe more doctors should be on salary, or maybe if we need and want doctors, we shouldn't be charging them a minimum of $50000 per year just for tuition so they don't start out deep in debt. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |
