In Anchorage, 40 to 50% of the professionals doing jobs that require degrees, got those degrees from UAA. Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Teachers, Psychologists, Doctors, Nurses, Logistics specialists, Aviation professionals etc. are training here and staying here. They don't need to be bribed to come to Alaska. They are already here. UAA's research in science, engineering, medicine, economics etc. brings millions of dollars into the state to study issues of relevance to Alaska and as this research is largely integrated with UAA's teaching mission, provides amazing opportunities for motivated students. When the emergency button is pressed, it also tells the monitoring company which elevator the button was pressed in. The management company was told there was an entrapment, and then they only check two of the three elevators??? Regardless of whether you know which elevator had an entrapment, or if the third elevator is in a renovated area, all elevators should be checked. We don't even allow our building engineers to touch elevators. Only the elevator maintenance company is allowed to maintain the elevators. A lot of bad decisions by this management company to say the least. Horrible.
