By installing pipelines which damage historical landmarks and cut off food and water access in culturally important places, we further the colonial destruction of Indigenous history and cultural practice. Example: pipelines are cutting off water supplies to crucial areas of rivers, harming salmon populations, creating fewer opportunities for fishing (which has strong cultural significance), and lowering food supplies and incomes to Native communities.
