The entire premise that the Kingdom of Hawaii still exists assumes that a governing body other than the U.S. government should have control over the Hawaiian Islands. Realistically determining whose rights would have primacy over another’s, and having it based upon hundreds of years old relations to people no longer living is antithetical to the culture that was and of people that remain. Though I don't have a drop of Native Hawaiian blood, my family called these islands home long before the overthrow. Would I have any rights under such a government? National Parks) Money for transportaion, education, military, emergency disaster funding, environmental protection all have the welfare of the general public in mind and each of us can reasonably expect to SEE the return. That matters for people that give their tax money expecting a return for their tax investment that they can personally experience.
