It is clear from the disproportionate market value placed on detached homes that Canadians continue to value large, multi-bedroom dwellings that ideally would be affordable enough for families to live in. Densification has thus far provided a glut of luxury one bedroom condominiums which sell easily and profitably for developers but do nothing to meet the market demand for large affordable dwellings suitable for families. If government insists that they must distort the housing market significantly through policy, they could at least make better efforts at incentivizing building the kind of homes that actually meet market requirements--i.e. affordable multi-bedroom dwellings, whether it is larger condominiums or "missing middle" alternatives such as split-level homes, townhouses, etc. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

In my comment you seem to miss the word "probably". Please retract you comment that "you won't look at probabilities". I don't think I have ever called Jesus a Bridegroom or Sacrifice. I think you are confusing someone else's comments as mine. I believe Jesus existed and showed us the Way(Love) and Kingdom of God. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

When did Russia shoot down MH-17? Neither of the competing MH-17 reports accuse Russia of shooting it down. And when did Russia target schools and hospitals in Syria? Some of the hospitals the USA claimed Russia to have bombed have been discovered to be full standing, with no damage, and still in operation. Others have been found to have never existed in the first place. If you want to look at evils, think of what the USA and its coalition is doing in Mosul, Iraq, where there is more than 2x the average weekly civilian deaths as were occurring in Aleppo, Syria. The whole Western media focus on Aleppo, Syria was a decoy from the much worse state of things happening during the USA-coalition's campaign in Mosul, Iraq. Don't let yourself be so easily manipulated by propaganda and false information. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

The official Church does NOT refer to Judas as "receiving the punishment of his guild". The Church CANNOT PROVE THAT JUDAS received anything but mercy at the hand of God. Secondly, how do you know that Judas, in the next life, did not seek forgiveness. God doesn't deal with us in a state of 'retribution' but in a state of 'restoration'. Too often conventional religion believes that God possesses the cultural attitude of "Well, I'll forgive when they've earned it, when they've proven themselves." That's not forgiveness----that's "let's make a deal"! | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

They do have published rules of procedure; however, they choose to operate as was explained by Senator Huggins, by use of legislative "traditions". They exempted themselves from state open meeting law (to meet behind closed doors on any topic), conditioned majority caucus membership on voting for the final budget appropriation (regardless of sustainability) and with voting with caucus leadership on all procedural votes (routinely used to suppress minority amendments), grant defacto veto power over legislation to individual committee chairs (who simply can simply refuse to hold a bill hearing until the session ends) and absolutely refuse to discipline members for legal and ethical violations ( e.g violating state procurement law, circumventing campaign donation restrictions, collecting per diem while on vacation. The current system simply cannot deliver solutions. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

We should re-open the Japanese Internment Camps from the 1940s and put anyone in there who can't produce a Canadian passport on demand! Personally, I think all our immigration interviews should be based on political party loyalty. If they aren't willing to make the maximum legally allowable donation to the CPC for the rest of their lives, they shouldn't be allowed to live here. That makes sense. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

Are you saying you would prefer lower taxation and abusers foot the bill for the programs? That's not how society works though. Otherwise Alaska wouldn't be getting a positive return on our fed tax dollars. Just think of it as the negotiated price for this endeavor. We will tax, SHOULD put 100% of revenue back into the regulation, enforcement, and treatment programs. Otherwise we just created another slushy revenue fund they will keep jacking up the tax on until most goes back to the black market, the anti-backers will proclaim it a failure while shooting themselves in the foot, etc. The voter intent is clear, the legislative intend becoming more clear and we need to make sure we address things reasonably, efficiently and fairly. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

Recent e…Trump: "We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs." Recent economic history tells us that it was large US corporations seeking increased profit margins, who moved manufacturing jobs to Asia, primarily to China, when wages there were rock bottom - thus eliminating many of the former jobs held by Americans. The products made in Asia were sold at premium prices in America and other western countries for decades. The damage to the US economy is thus self-inflicted and durable, as bringing back manufacturing to a country, where workers expect higher wages, makes no sense, particularly in the present context of increased automation. Moreover, American consumers will ultimately seek to buy well-made products at prices they can afford: chances are that many of them prefer foreign made products, as opposed to those with the "made in America" label, particularly when it comes to cars. Tough times lie ahead. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

I don't think the Spirit is much in evidence when there is no interest or empathy for others—AnonAJ sometimes even the Faithful forget “O Lord, our God, how wonderful your name in all the earth” (Psalm 8:2ab), your name that enables such things as Medicaid and Medicare. “You have given him rule over the works of your hands” (Psalm 8:7), meaning the Faithful are also in a position to misrule the works of the Lord. “you nullify the word of God in favor of your” Republican “tradition that you have handed on” (Mark 7:13) to which conservative, Tea Party Republicans object. Fortu…This discussion is a red herring to distract people from what does work to reduce school inequality: integration, economic integration, that is. Fortunately, even though many people would opposed enforced school integration in Anchorage (just look at that election map!), we have plenty enough who should be willing (well, at least that's how they talk), to participate in a voluntary school integration program that would involve a one-for-one swap of students from schools in "the views" with students from schools in, well, you know, "nice neighborhoods", composed of "nice people" who live in "nice houses", and drive "nice cars". Anyway, I expect that ASD could create a registry of parents who want to participate so that next school year, parents all over town can widen their children's horizons a bit. It worked for me, and I'm sure many of the children in my part of town would appreciate having the same opportunities as those children in the rest of Anchorage. Have a nice day. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |

There are many downsides to higher density and where even single dwellings are being squished together. But also think of the big coming earthquake and then about accessibility for rescue. Also - the effect of floods where water has no place to go except to rush along on top of pavement and surge up between buildings. And in the case of fire - firemen dealing with tight spacing between buildings and the spread of fire from building to building. I think these can be serious problems. | No flag | No flag | Allow | No action | Checked |
