The CF apparently had no issue with bringing us on board, as many in my basic training platoon were also 15, and I might reasonably surmise this was happening (and still does) all across Canada. There were some pretty young Reservists being deployed to Afghanistan, but no outcry about 'child soldiers' then, either - Nor did they say "It is reprehensible, in fact, that a teenager was in any way allowed to take part in fighting in Afghanistan" as the 'General' has said about Khadr. So, okay for us, but not for him, appears to be the message. After 11 years, I released from service due to my disappointment with the Officer ranks and the arrogant attitude. I see it hasn't changed.
