Sure oil must continue to be extracted to maintain some employment and tax return to the Alberta government, but no expansion is warranted. Third, existing pipelines are not running at capacity and probably won't. Producers are chasing higher prices, which is a chimera in a world of oil and gas glut. Fourth, the BC coast is far more productive and important than Alberta's oil fields. Only a complete fool would endorse more tanker traffic. No, this is about money, for Big Oil and for the Alberta treasury.
