But replacing Sir John A Macdonald, who united four colonies to create the Dominion of Canada, and built the CPR to make a nation that goes from sea to sea with her is too much. This is the sort of politically correct pandering that gets people like Donald Trump elected. No flagNo flagAllowNo actionChecked

Just someone who has "integration of knowledge"? No, actually, you did tell us who you wanted: the liberal Merrick Garland or someone equally compliant to the previous administration's hegemony. There were no sanctions against the country of Zimbabwe or the Zanu PF government. A few countries including the USA applied limited and specific sanctions against a small list of individuals and organisations. These trade sanctions were also ludicrously easy to by-pass - one could sell products to the Zanu PF army, but not to certain ranking officers in the army - go figure. The Zimbabwe economy collapsed as a result of the ideology and poor economic policies - especially monetary policy - of the Zanu PF government. You are on the right track when you indicate that in thre global economy, autarchy is not a viable solution, and that the market will reward or punish governments for their policies, as the case may be. " - Just possible that this agenda will be 'fleshed' out when the meeting starts. That is, bishops will use the same strategy that was used in the opening sessions of VatII -- reject the proposed agenda items and propose new items for vote that actually are substantive in addressing the concerns of catholics in the USA. - One can hope! Do like I do: Keep your faith and go to Mass. Don't give a dime in the collection but, rather give your donation to the St. Vincent De Paul Society or anther charity that uses 100% of the money for the sake of the truly needy...with no administrative fees. Also, stand up and make your voice and opinion heard. I don't care if I offend the Bishop. He is entitled to his opinion and you and I are entitled to ours. I don't care about what the Pope says either...I ignore him. I refuse to contribute money and at the end of the day that's what they (the Bishop's collectively) want most. How about a break from the pregancy classes and the nurses at the hospital treating the dads as uncaight criminals? How bout a break for the dads who almost witnessed loosing both his wife and daughter (as I did)? I am ok with lots of other adjectives including stupid, offensive, distasteful, sexist and even racist . But that doesn't mean it was hate speech. Hate speech should be a very high bar Classifying this as hate speech is a slippery road to censorship. If this had been a genuine article I don't mind it being published. That wasn't Pillay's mistake Her mistake was - not verifying - No biggy - defending the article's views as standard feminism ... and insult to feminists - her surprise that people may find such an article offensive I had a far bigger problem with her MG Musi : de Klerk 'mistake' That did real damage The 2 mistakes together lead me to believe that maybe she isn't remotely objective about SA politically and socially. Ask yourself if she would have made these mistakes if the ANC or women were the target? No flagNo flagAllowNo actionChecked

One one hand not only do you lose out the taxpayer investment but you lose out on payroll and income taxes generated by keeping these workers employed (assuming they pay no corporate tax due to tax credits), their tiered suppliers and no unemployment payouts. But by getting Airbus involved they get around the tariffs so American companies are more likely to buy them, but Bombardier will probably receive more orders than they would ever get on their own due to Airbus's stability, marketing and sales, and confidence in one of the most efficient, comfortable and designed commercial plane ever made. Airlines want to buy them (I believe) but why would they if Bombardier went bankrupt. Personally I hate all subsidies but Boeing "The King of Subsidies" just got checkmated and I love it. Hopefully they will use this chance to develop their other business interests to maybe build streetcars on time for example. No flagNo flagAllowNo actionChecked
