The trade-offs for not having a pension plan is the lower corporate tax rates, so you can try and save a similar level that a public employee gets from the government. To create a pension that pays $40K per year, you need roughly $1Million making 4%. Most public employees can not save that much themselves, yet there are plenty that get more than that in pension money. When you receive the pension, it is counted as income, and marginal tax rates apply, so you might be in the 30% tax bracket. This is the issue business owners have. If they save that money in their corp as a pension plan, they've paid corp tax first, then a dividend tax later which will equal ~ 34%. Under the new rules, it can total over 60%. The trouble with the anti-abortion adoption argument is that the vast majority of kids, particularly in poor urban areas don't get adopted. They become victims without a nurturing, capable and loving family because they're not wanted - by anybody. They grow up on the streets with no hope for many of them for a normal and healthy future. The government, us taxpayers, then end up footing the costs for these otherwise innocent, but unwanted, kids. Are there some adoption success stories? Certainly. But many unwanted kids go unclaimed and unwanted. Also wondered who was he actually helping so I read his cases and particularly what the US Supreme Court had to say. That decision says a lot and explains his focus. He is not theoretical. The decision is based on the constitutional rights of over a thousand specific people in Hawaii who are citizens or legal residents as well as their rights under the immigration laws which have not changed. His argument earned the respect of the Supreme Court which created an exception for the people from Hawaii and devoted several pages to why the Court granted an exception for them from Trump’s ban and extended it to people from other states. Even some of the US Attornies have acknowledged that Trump’s ban should have provided this.
